 09.12.2011 Completing the HMS series of spectrum analyzers from Hameg Instruments is a 1-GHz entry-level model that sells for about $2600 (less than 2000€). The HMS1000E analyzer covers a frequency range of 100 kHz to 1 GHz and an amplitude measurement range of −104 dBm to +20 dBm. It also boasts a crisp 6.5-in. TFT VGA display, three USB ports, and an optional IEEE 488 or dual Ethernet/USB interface. The instrument comes in a compact case that is 11.22×6.88×8.66 in. and weighs 7.93 lbs. Six resolution bandwidths (−3 dB) are available from 10 kHz to 1 MHz in 1-3 steps, plus 200 kHz. Video bandwidths range from 1 kHz to 1 MHz in 1-3 steps. Other specifications include a sweep time of 20 ms to 1000 s and spectral purity of less than −100 dBc/Hz at 100 kHz from the carrier.
