16.06.2011 The UWIR-2-NEMA from Omega Engineering comprises a remote noncontact infrared temperature sensor and a wireless radio transmitter housed in a NEMA-4X (IP65) weather-resistant enclosure. This combination device wirelessly transmits process temperature, ambient temperature, signal strength, and battery status to a host receiver for real-time display on a PC. Suitable for use in harsh environments, the miniature sensor head measures temperatures from –18°C to 538°C (0 to 1000°F) in hard-to-reach, confined areas. It is accurate to within ±2% of reading or 2.2°C (4°F), whichever is greater, at 22°C (72°F) and an emissivity of 0.95. Emissivity is adjustable from 0.10 to 1.00. The remote sensor also provides an optical field of view of 6:1 (distance/spot size) and allows cable extension up to 15 m (50 ft). Laser sighting is optional.
