Server Acceleration with SLIC Technology

The Alacritech product was engineered to resolve server performance bottlenecks induced by conventional adapter architectures including memory traffic, CPU interrupts and PCI traffic. Alacritech's revolutionary SLIC Technology re-architects servers by splitting TCP/IP processing between host-based exception handling and adapter-based hardware-assisted data handling. The technology is significantly more efficient that traditional network interfaces because the host is only managing session-level data rather than managing session and packet data.

SLIC Technology utilizes Alacritech's unique Internet Protocol Processor (IPP), a high-performance ASIC optimized for protocol processing. Alacritech's IPP is much faster, more efficient, and more economical than general-purpose CPUs.
